As a result we got exactly what we wanted a ban on female genital mutilation as practiced in many tribal communities but we also had our right as consenting adults to alter our own bodies taken away. Mind you a man can still get a nail hammered through his dick but a women better not get her hood pierced.

The third kind seems to be the most alarming to us westerners which is Infibulation which while is a different procedure than female circumcision falls under the same umbrella as female mutilation. It represents 10% of female mutilation and is sometimes done with clitoral removal right before puberty to ensure virginity at the time of marriage and is a visual guarantee to the husband that he has married a virgin something that used to be important to Christians but hell I doubt you could find many virgins in the united states past puberty! They basically remove all external skin from the vagina and then tie the legs closed so that the vagina sealed shut leaving only a very small hole. You know what though? The parents want this to happen, the live in another country, why is it our business. Like abortion if we were not trying to make it illegal perhaps many of the dangers associated with it would be gone and it could be practiced in the open in a clean environment. Remarkably 90% of these women still claim to gain sexual pleasure from sex and I do not even know if 90% of American females could claim the same.
The fourth kind is easy, anything that does not fall under the first three which includes piercing which is where I get involved in this issue. You see in 2004 I was going to get a chastity piercing. I mean do you really think it is less painful to be done at birth than as an adult, come on now!
You know look below, at the article preceding this one, what do you think those people in those tribal cultures think of us subjecting our teenagers to that kind of orthodontic torture for one to five years purely for cosmetic and cultural conformity?
